History

Chevrolet Camaro is a popular sports car developed by the corporation General Motors. The model was named after the French word “camarade”, which is translated as a “friend”. For the first time, the car was presented to the general review in 1966. Since that moment and to this day, it is considered the main youth car. The second generation Chevrolet Camaro was presented to the public in 1970, which, for the whole production time, 11 years, was the leader in terms of sales. Then there was the third generation – 1982, the fourth generation – 1993. Since 2002, the production of Chevrolet Camaro was frozen by General Motors. However, the fifth generation model was introduced to the public in 2009. Starting from 2015, the sixth generation model is being released, and we will talk about its modification, namely the Chevrolet Camaro 2017, in this article.

Four different engine options are available for the Camaro 2017, and reviewers say that the best option for buying depends on the budget and the power desired. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 275-horsepower, which is provided in a cheaper LT model, is the most affordable one.

V6 at 335 hp is also available in LT. The SS version comes with an inflatable 6.2-liter V8 with 455-horsepower under the hood. The most powerful version ZL1 comes with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with a 650-horsepower.

The basic version consists of a six-speed manual transmission, and an eight-speed transmission is available in LT and SS, providing a fast, precise shift by steering switches on the steering wheel. ZL1 can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic transmission.

A heavy body harms maneuverability – it was noted by drivers of the previous generation of the 2010-2015 Camaro. Engineers put the sixth generation on a diet, and this led to a weight loss of 100 kilograms. As a result, Chevrolet Camaro 2017 has become more nimble and has an excellent road grip when passing through the turns.

The dual exhaust is available in the V6 and V8 models. Other equipment includes a sports adaptive suspension Magnetic Ride Control (a system that quickly adjusts the suspension, depending on road conditions in order to improve steerability and ride quality).

The main feature of this car lies in the design of the exterior. The exterior of the Chevrolet Camaro 2017 is just fabulous. Due to the application of some unique solutions, the company’s designers have given the new car a truly brutal, very aggressive look. Camaro has a new bumper with a massive splitter, which has a large air intake, enlarged arches for the wheels, a powerful wing and a modernized hood cover. The sports car is mounted on a set of designer wheel disks of 20 inches, which are shrouded in low-profile rubber Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar. Chevrolet specially ordered this kind of tires from Goodyear. In general, the exterior of the updated version looks more attractive compared to the previous modification

The assessment of comfort for passengers inside the Camaro depends largely on where you are in the front or back seat. The testers say that the front seats are well maintained and comfortable enough for driving throughout the day. They are coated with fabric upholstery with heating and cooling in all version, except for 1LT and 1SS. Front visibility is very poor, and behind it is almost completely absent.

The interior is better than it was before – thoughtful trim double climate-control rings, analog sensors, and softer and nice to the touch materials in everything.

Infotainment system MyLink comes with a standard 7-inch touch screen or an additional 8-inch screen. Applications such as Pandora, Slacker, iHeartRadio, and Spotify are integrated into the car using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also features Bluetooth, satellite radio, and two USB ports. This system is easy to use, with a clear display that modernizes the exterior of the interior. If you ever lend your Camaro to another driver, the included system will give a detailed account of how quickly and how far he (she) drove.
