5 facts about 2018 Cadillac XT7

Crossovers seem to conquer the American highway. If SUVs dominated fin-de-siècle, but gradually lost their popularity, crossovers are definitely on the tear, and more than a threefold increase in the sales numbers in the US is the best confirmation. It can only mean that this is the best time for Cadillac, a luxury car division under Ford Motors Company, to bring their new one to the game. The automaker is expected to play on the usual advantages of the crossover, i.e. family-friendly, increased space, great for carpool, but do it with a sophisticated twist thus staying true to the brand’s vision.

2018 Cadillac XT7 is bound to set itself ahead of the game

As we know, many beautiful things come out of the competition. This was the case for Cadillac when they developed their 2018 XT7 model to hit the market and leave customers in awe. The presence of their close contenders only adds up to the thrill. Volvo has taken six years to launch Volvo XC90 that immediately struck a chord with the public even though shortly before the company was almost left adrift by Ford. Meanwhile, Acura MDX, or Honda MDX, has no intention to give up their seat at the top as the best-selling crossover and plans to keep the position.

It will fill the gap in the model lineup

The ability to provide your customers with a wide range of models within the lineup puts you ahead in a competition. With 2018 Cadillac XT7, the company aims at filling the gap between the compact Cadillac XT5 and the bigger model, Escalade.

When compared to the new XT5, XT7 is expected to have better interiors as for the compact model they pretty much played it down. Reviewers also pointed out how Cadillac offered no meaty engines for the XT5, which accounted for a rather dull handling. Rumor has it that with XT7, the manufacturer plans to expand the engine range. And finally, as opposed to Escalade with its impressive dimensions, XT7 is likely to be easier to handle and maneuver.

It will have fine exteriors

Cadillac put its experience in designing modern looks to use, and greatly so. After CT6 sedan was widely praised for its sleek appearance, an attempt to get rid of clichés that came with American luxury cars and outdo European rivals, Cadillac couldn’t help but take it as inspiration for its future developments. The manufacturer also drew ideas from its other preceding models that once made it big with the customers. The wheelbase on this model is going to be larger making up for both interiors that are more spacious and more cargo space, which makes the vehicle an understandably popular choice for large families and road trips. The large grill in the front fascia contributes to the overall imposing aggressive looks of the crossover. 2018 Cadillac XT7 will also see reshaped headlights.

And it will have interiors to match

Just like its rival, Volvo XC90, 2018 Cadillac XT7 has three rows of seats and can accommodate up to seven persons. The car might have experienced what they call ‘the segment creep’. In the automotive industry, the term stands for the phenomenon when automakers in an attempt to beat their competitors consequently enlarge the car’s dimensions. And this seems to work for 2018 Cadillac XT7 since it won’t only bring more space, but also the interiors that will make the perfect match. So far, it’s expected that the interior will be truly lavish, with leather, upholstery, and touches of real wood here and there – a balanced and fancy solution that makes Cadillac the luxurious brand it is.

The specs won’t leave buyers disappointed

The types of engines that the new model by Cadillac will use are still not officially confirmed. The rumors have been changing over time, but at the moment the general consensus is as follows: there are likely to be several sorts of engines under the new car’s hood. The standard option will be the 3.6L V6 engine. It will give out 310 hp of energy and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. The vehicle will have the eight-speed automatic transmission to match. In comparison to XT5, the engine for this model will be tangibly improved to provide for better performance and more thrilling driving experience. Car critics and journalists expect the emergence of V8 turbocharged models. Some assume that there’ll also be 2.0L four-cylinder and 3.0L engines available. However, at this point, it’s impossible to either confirm or debunk this assumption.
